01 / The ritual

Your day was full.
This moment
doesn’t have to be.

No routine to perfect. No number to chase. Just a steady, tactile rhythm to return to while you settle in.

Something gentle to focus on.

Choose from nine vibration patterns in Settings, from a short Click to a more distinct tap sequence. Your choice is saved for next time.

Less to do before doing nothing.

Turn the Digital Crown, find a comfortable pace, and tap Start. No headphones, account, or elaborate setup.

A ritual with nothing to prove.

Take a few minutes or stay for up to 30. End whenever you like. Relaxation doesn’t need a leaderboard.

02 / Make it yours

Find your
own rhythm.

Some evenings call for slow. Others, a little steadier. Turn the Digital Crown to find a comfortable pace—even during a session.

45—100

beats per minute.
Always your choice.

Your tempo and vibration pattern are remembered for next time. The rhythm follows your choice, never your heart-rate reading.

60BPM

A visual preview, not a heartbeat reading.
The app’s gentle taps happen on your Watch.

03 / Research, read carefully

Why the pace
matters.

Heartbeat-like cues are more than decoration. Research suggests their tempo and presentation can influence arousal—but the evidence is nuanced, and personal responses vary.

What we take from it

Lento Pulse keeps the rhythm gentle, lets you choose the pace, and makes it easy to stop. The BPM is a haptic tempo, never a measurement.

A 2023 ACM paper found that fast heartbeat-like vibration and sound raised heart rate and self-reported anxiety in two small studies. The authors place that result beside earlier work where slower wrist cues showed calming potential.

Research-informed, not clinically validated. Lento Pulse itself has not been tested in these studies and is a general wellness aid, not a medical device or treatment.

04 / Beautifully simple

A softer landing.
In three little steps.

Built for the moment when you’d rather stop thinking about what to do next.

  1. 01

    Find a comfortable pace.

Open Lento Pulse on your Watch. Choose your BPM with the Digital Crown and your vibration pattern with the Settings gear beside Start.

  2. 02

    Tap Start. Settle in.

For quiet taps, turn on Silent Mode in your Watch’s Control Center and keep Haptic Alerts enabled. Tap Start and let the rhythm be your focus.

  3. 03

    Let the moment be yours.

Rest for a few minutes, or up to 30. Adjust the BPM with the Crown whenever you like, or tap End to stop.

Personal. And kept that way.

A few things to know

Wondering
about something?

Here are the little details.
Still curious? We’re here to help.

What does Lento Pulse actually do?

Lento Pulse plays a steady, heartbeat-like haptic rhythm on your Apple Watch. Choose a pace from 45 to 100 BPM, tap Start, and feel gentle taps on your wrist for up to 30 minutes. It is a simple focus for your wind-down routine, not a guided breathing exercise or a heart-rate monitor.

Will it lower my heart rate or help me sleep?

Lento Pulse gives you a quiet, tactile point of focus while you relax. Experiences vary: it does not guarantee a lower heart rate, better sleep, or any other health outcome. It is a wellness aid, not a medical device, and does not diagnose or treat a condition.

Does the rhythm follow my heart rate?

No. The BPM is the haptic tempo you choose, not your measured heart rate. The rhythm stays at your chosen pace until you adjust it with the Digital Crown or end the session. If you allow optional, read-only Apple Health access, the setup screen can show your latest saved heart-rate reading for context. That reading never controls the rhythm.

Do I need to keep my iPhone nearby?

Lento Pulse runs on your Apple Watch, so you do not need to keep your iPhone nearby during a session. The app requires watchOS 26 or later and does not need an account or an internet connection to play its haptic rhythm. Initial Apple Watch setup or App Store installation may involve your paired iPhone.

Is my health data private?

Yes. The app processes the optional latest saved heart-rate reading on your Watch only. It does not persistently store that reading, upload it, or share it. Your chosen BPM, vibration pattern, and whether you have seen the quiet-playback introduction are saved in local preferences. The app has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, or networking, and it never starts or saves a workout.

How long is a session, and can I stop early?

A session can run for up to 30 minutes. Tap End at any time to stop the haptics immediately. Choose a pace that feels comfortable; there is no target to achieve and no score to chase.

Why do I hear a sound? Do I need Silent Mode?

watchOS haptic patterns can include sound when Silent Mode is off. Press the side button to open Control Center, then turn on Silent Mode with the bell button. Keep Haptic Alerts on in Watch Settings → Sounds & Haptics, and wear the Watch snugly against your wrist. Lento Pulse explains this on first launch and in Settings, but cannot enable or detect Silent Mode itself.

Can I choose a different vibration pattern?

Yes. Tap the Settings gear beside Start, choose a pattern, and use Try pattern to feel it once. The nine choices are Click, Direction up, Direction down, Notification, Success, Failure, Retry, Start, and Stop. Your selection is saved automatically for your next session. Click is the default and works well at faster tempos; longer patterns may not finish between beats. Navigation and underwater patterns require special watchOS sessions and are not available in Lento Pulse. Enable Silent Mode before previewing for quiet playback.

Can I change the BPM during a session?

Yes. Turn the Digital Crown while the session is running to adjust the tempo between 45 and 100 BPM. The current beat interval finishes before the new pace takes effect, without restarting the session or resetting the timer. Your updated BPM is saved for next time. You can also adjust the tempo with VoiceOver.

The day can wait.
